Aqua-Chem Consultant Mark Stanley Passes Away
Knoxville, Tenn. — Mark A. Stanley, 58, former consultant for Aqua-Chem, Inc., passed away in his home on Friday afternoon, January 30th, 2015, surrounded by his family.
During his extraordinary career as a contracting officer for the Department of Defense at Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, Mark was involved in the award of the two largest contracts on record, one of them an Army tire program that moved the existing national system to a just-in-time inventory. After retirement, he worked as a contractor and consultant to Aqua-Chem in Knoxville, Tennessee.
"All members of the Aqua-Chem family are deeply saddened by Mr. Stanley’s death,” said Aqua-Chem CEO David Gensterblum. “Mark was an outstanding business leader, a man of dignity and strong convictions with a penetrating mind.”
Through his energy and wisdom, Mr. Stanley left his mark on Aqua-Chem by instilling in the organization a devotion to quality and work ethic. He exhibited the finest qualities of a leader, and by his example and counsel, he left a great impression on those who succeeded him. To his wife, his children and grandchildren, Aqua-Chem extends its heartfelt sympathy.
