Aqua-Chem, Inc. Water Purification Equipment Supporting the Typhoon Relief Effort in the Philippines

Knoxville, TN (November 14, 2013) - Aqua-Chem Inc, a Knoxville-based maker of water purification systems is supporting the US Navy’s typhoon relief effort in the Philippines. With the Navy's commitment to support the typhoon relief effort, Aqua-Chem's equipment will be providing clean, safe, drinking water to the thousands of people affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

"Whether in times of war, peace keeping or relief efforts Aqua-Chem water purification equipment is able to support the fresh water needs of the people using our equipment," said David Gensterblum, Aqua-Chem President and CEO. Three of the deployed naval vessels to support the relief effort use Aqua-Chem fresh water generation technology. These three ships have the capacity to produce more than 530,000 gallons per day of drinkable water.
