Addition of Leading Industrial Water Treatment Company Expands Menu of Global Water Solutions Offerings

Knoxville, TN, February 10, 2011 – Aqua-Chem, Inc., a complete water purification solution provider, today announced that it has acquired Enviro-Solutions, LLC, an industrial water treatment equipment and chemical firm. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The Enviro-Solutions acquisition follows Aqua-Chem’s purchase in June 2010 of Specific Equipment Company (“SPECIFIC”), a Houston-based provider of fluid-handling systems for the petroleum industry, resort hotels and other industry segments. Enviro-Solutions will operate as Aqua-Chem Industrial Division under the Aqua-Chem parent umbrella. “The addition of Enviro-Solutions’ products and technology expands the menu of water solutions we offer to a global base of customers,” said David Gensterblum, President & CEO of Aqua-Chem. “We can now provide a wide range of industrial users with the ability to dramatically lower their manufacturing costs by recovering for re-use waste water that is typically flushed away. Industry’s ongoing need to reduce costs and commit to green-themed manufacturing processes makes this combination an absolute winner.” Carroll H. We anticipate 2-3 large jobs this year.” In December, Aqua-Chem and Enviro-Solutions announced that initial results from a joint pilot project with a major U.S. carpet manufacturer demonstrate that it is both practical and economically feasible to simultaneously remove dye and other contaminants from wastewater used in large-scale carpet manufacturing. Gensterblum noted that projects like this show the economic potential of industrial applications of water treatment that treat and re-use waste water. Founded in 1998, Enviro-Solutions products merge industrial water treatment expertise with both proprietary equipment and chemical prescriptions. Its Enviro II industrial wastewater solutions are uniquely designed and customized to meet the needs of the facility into which they are installed and substantially reduce operating costs. Enviro-Solutions, based in Lenoir City, TN, will be consolidated at Aqua-Chem’s Forks of the River site in Knoxville.
