The Freedom Award is the Department of Defense's highest recognition for employers supporting members of the United States Guard and Reserves. “This is a distinct honor for our company”, said Aqua-Chem President and CEO David Gensterblum. “Our company has manufactured water purification systems for the U.S. Military for decades, our military systems are a core part of our business. Nominations for the award must come from a Guard or Reserve member who is employed by the organization they are nominating, or from a family member. The award was created to publicly recognize employers who provide exceptional support to their Guard and Reserve employees. It is the highest in a series of employer recognition awards given by the Department of Defense.
